Rider University gets most out of important e-resources with tutorials

I was recently visiting with a Rider University librarian and former Burlington County College colleague, Patricia Dawson, and I asked her if there were any techniques she and her fellow Rider librarians use to get the most from their important (and sometimes costly) eresources.  It just so happens that they have a trick up their sleeve: tutorials!  Tutorials that they make themselves no less.  Take for example the database SciFinder Scholar, a critical resource for Chemistry majors.  Pat Dawson and some of her Rider Colleagues (Danielle Jacobs, Heather Dalal, and Jingru Zhang), created a multiple module tutorial for SciFinder Scholar, mounted on YouTube, that takes chemistry students through the whole research process, right down to the proper citation process for chemical reference! 

Their tutorials are well located and easy to find on their library home page and they use LibGuides to organize the modules.  You can see their SciFinder tutorials here.  And we may have a future presentation by the Rider team on their process, stay tuned!  But in the meantime, here's a sample:
